New Phone App makes life easy for anti-Zionists*

The media getting it wrong on the Istanbul blast

UPDATE: Two days after I first highlighted this some media is now reporting that the bomber did indeed specifically target the Israeli group. See below for more.

The first we knew of any Israeli connection to yesterday's terrorist attack in Istanbul was when one of the Turkish Government officials put out a tweet saying that she wished Israelis had been killed rather than only wounded. Then came the (incorrect) claim that the Israelis involved were all Arabs. And every media source claimed that the attack was almost certainly carried out by Kurdish separatists.

As soon as I heard that one of the fatalities was actually an Israeli I suspected this was an ISIS/Jihadist attack and nothing to do with the Kurds (and it has since been confirmed that the attacker was a known Jihadist). Now we know that 3 Israelis (all Jews and not Arabs as originally claimed) were killed and many others were injured. Most reports mention 4 dead in total including the suicide bomber; the "2 dead Americans" cited in many reports were actually two of the Israelis as they held dual passports. Although there were reports of some Irish wounded I have not seen any of that confirmed anywhere.

That means that in the centre of Istanbul a Jihadist suicide bomber managed to target a group of people who just happened to be almost exclusively Israeli Jews. Apart from the bomber himself all the dead were Israeli Jews (which will make that Turkish Government official very happy after all) as were most of the injured.

We also know that all of the Israelis involved were part of an organised tour. This is a fact which would have been known to many people in Turkey - a country where 96% of the population have unfavourable views of Jews and where they hate Israelis more than anybody else in the world. Given that Turkey hosts thousands of ISIS terrorists - as well as many other terrorists operating under Iranian funding - a large group of Israelis in the centre of Istanbul would have been a very attractive and easy target. While Israelis are positive people who like to travel and often think that their foreign hosts are all delighted to meet them (despite the persistent evidence to the contrary), they sadly will have stood out like a sore thumb. Both ISIS and Hezbollah have stated their desire to target Israelis everywhere. When you consider all of those facts - and throw in also the number of terrorist attacks that have taken place in Turkey recently - the idea that an Israeli group should choose the centre of Istanbul for their holiday destination is surprising to say the least.

Maybe it was all just one big, very unlucky, coincidence that a group of Israelis in the centre of one of the most antisemitic places on earth found themselves side-by-side with an Islamist suicide bomber. But my recommendation would be for Israelis - especially in groups - to avoid places like Turkey. Not simply because of the fact that there have been terrorists attacks there (that really would be giving in to terrorism) - but because the terrorists especially would like to kill Israelis and Jews; and in an Islamist country, especially, there are no Israeli security personnel to stop them.

Finally, after it became clear that the only victims were Israelis the story was dropped from all the main stream media apart from minor reports which simply still talk about an attack with unspecified victims 'likely to have been carried out by Kurdish separatists'. Sadly (but now typical for this increasingly useless newspaper) the Jerusalem Post also quickly relegated the story to a minor mention on its web pages so that it could continue to focus on what leftists seem to think is the greatest threat to world Jewry - Donald Trump.

Postscript: Now that the attack is known to have been directed only at Israelis the story no longer appears on the BBC New website (see screenshot below). Also I suppose the BBC will exclude it from their list of worldwide terrorist attacks as they have routinely done in the past. (their previous lists always exclude terrorist attacks in Israel).

Muslims in World War 2

I couldn't resist this reply to a tweet by Baroness Warsi:

When will Jewish victims of Muslim terrorism be invited to Real Madrid?

One of the most widely broadcast news stories associated with Israel this week was Real Madrid's invitation of Ahmad Dawabshe - the 5-year-old Palestinian survivor of the 2015 Duma house fire-bombing (in January 2016 two Jewish Israelis, one of them a minor, were charged with three counts of murder and being an accessory to murder - the defendants deny all charges and Abu Yehuda has been tracking the many inconsistencies in the case).

It might seem mean to raise concerns about somebody committing a good deed - which this certainly is for the child - but there is serious baggage associated with this "act of kindness".

The media have, as expected, used this as an opportunity to engage in an orgy of demonization of Israel and its "Jewish terrorists". In doing so, the media have of course ignored both the incredible rarity of Jewish acts of terrorism and the incredible frequency of Muslim acts of terrorism specifically against the Jews of Israel. They also ignored the fact that, whereas Israelis were universally disgusted at even the possibility that Jews could have committed the fire-bombing, the Palestinian population in contrast rejoices every time Muslims slaughter Jewish civilians - including children - in cold blood.

But most important, given the recent history of Real Madrid (and in particular its star player Christiano Ronaldo) in promoting the 'Palestinian cause' it is clear that Ahmad Dawabshe was invited there primarily as a political protest aimed at demonizing Israel. And also note that the invitation was coordinated with Jibril Rajoub the Head of the Palestinian Football Association who is not only a convicted terrorist but is a man who has used his position to: delegitimize Israel wherever possible, continue support for terrorism; and lead the movement to boycott Israel from international football (and other sports).

If this was not a stunt primarily to delegitimize Israel then why, for example, were the four young children of Eitam and Naama Henkin not invited along with Ahmad Dawabshe? These four children witnessed both their parents being murdered by Muslim terrorists around the same time as the Duma fire.

Or how about Roee Fogel? His mother Ruth, father Udi, and three siblings; Yoav (11), Elad (4) and Hadas (3 months) were murdered in their home in Itamar in 2011 by terrorists who cut the baby Hadas's head off and yet are still hailed as "heroes of Palestine" (and receive generous salaries from the Palestine Authority courtesy of EU and US tax payers). Indeed inviting Roee Fogel to Real Madrid might even force the media to mention the Itamar massacre, since unlike the Duma fire-bombing (which has been covered extensively by every major world media outlet) the Itamar massacre was not even mentioned in any news media outside Israel.

Perhaps Real Madrid will still prove me wrong. In which case I look forward to them inviting some of the other thousands of Jewish children of Israel who, in the last 15 years, have had parents or siblings slaughtered by Muslims terrorists. Or even some of the hundreds of thousands of children all over the world with parents and siblings murdered by Muslim terrorists in the last 5 years. Rather than choosing to focus on the one child whose family (may) have been the victims of Jewish terrorists.

Stopping British funding of convicted Palestinian terrorists - positive response from my (Labour) MP

I recently wrote the following letter to my local MP (a Labour MP not known for any great sympathy toward Israel):

In light of previous communications I have had with you on this subject I sincerely hope that you will be signing this early day motion on British funding of convicted Palestinian terrorists**(see bottom for full statement):

Please note also that what is not clearly stated in the motion is the fact that prisoners reward is proportional to the number of Jews they kill. The more killed the higher their reward.

What possible reason is there for UK tax payers to continue to pay what is effectively a massive reward to terrorist murderers. Not only is this obscene, but it provides a massive incentive for other terrorists to murder.

I am pleased to report that he has just replied as follows:

While I cannot claim to be an expert on the issues covered, as you know, the motion is extremely detailed and does not seem to me to be merely a knee-jerk response to a news story.

I have therefore added my name to the motion this afternoon. If you look on the parliamentary website tomorrow it should be there.

At the moment there are only seven signatures - which is a bit of a disgrace.

Daniel Greenfield posted a very good article yesterday on this subject - but restricted to the American funding of Palestinian terrorists. In fact, the combined UK and EU funding is actually far greater than the US funding. It is difficult to get an accurate figure since there are so many different sources of funding - there is the official EU Palestinian budget (which is now approximately 650 million euros per year) but most countries also provide their own funding (the UK, for example, gives about 50 million pounds per year from its Overseas Aid budget) and there is also massive additional funding through the many NGOs and charities. At some point I plan to do a proper analysis of this, but there is no doubt that if you lump all the donations together the Palestinians receive per capita many times more funding than any other people in the world (including the most desperate Africans).

More terrorist attacks and still not a single deterrent in place

With a new spate of terrorist attacks today resulting in one dead American tourist and many Israelis critically injured**(see update below), here is another update to the chart showing incentives and deterrents for Palestinians to attack Jews. I'm hoping that one day somebody in the Israeli Government might read it and twig why the attacks continue.

Why does this woman deserve our charity? It's all about the cult of "Palestinianism"

We are expected to have sympathy for this woman and pay for her baby factory, but nobody asks why

While updating information today about anti-Israel charities funded by Comic Relief (and its subsidiary Sport Relief) I did some checks on organisations (other than those I have already reported on) who received big grants.

One such organisation - CARE International - currently has a £1 million grant from Comic Relief. Among its activities, this charity funds 'humanitarian work' in Gaza, but it is not overtly political and anti-Israel in the same way as War on Want, Oxfam, Christian Aid and Save the Children***. However, on its web page I found the above image of a 39-year old woman (Mariam) in Gaza who clearly feels it is her duty to give birth to as many 'martyrs' as she can, since she says: "We must have many children here, because we lose so many in the wars". Even ignoring the implied blood libel that Israel kills children, it is not at all clear to me why anybody in the West should be funding this kind of 'humanitarian aid'; it is inconceivable that aid to provide an ever-ending conveyor belt of 'martyrs' would be provided by charities to any other people in the world except the Palestinians.

The explanation lies in the cult of 'Palestinianism' - a cult that, in my view, can only be explained by visceral and irrational hatred of Israel. In other words it is driven by anti-Semitism:

'Palestinianism' is the belief in the universal sanctification of the Palestinians as the most helpless, tragic and disadvantaged people in the history of the world; a people whose suffering - no matter how minor - must be the focus of world attention, and must also take precedence over any other suffering in the world.
Palestinianism maintains that the Muslims of Gaza and 'the West Bank' are a people with no say in their own fate or actions, and who are so helpless that they cannot, for example, be held responsible for the many among their numbers who carry out terrorists murders of Jewish civilians despite the fact that 90% fully support such murders in the hope that they will one day rid Israel of every Jew.
Palestinianism demands that no Palestinians should ever be held to account for any actions they take, no matter how brutal, inhumane or sadistic, since they are only ever the 'victims' of some earlier sleight by the Jews.
'Palestinianism' demands that the Palestinians must have their very own UN refugee agency (UNWRA) and that when it comes to funding their needs take precedence over everybody in the world. Hence, the 'poor Palestinians' already receive per capita five times more international aid (most provided by European and US taxpayers) than any other people in the world. And that is why, despite this fact, well-meaning charities like CARE International insist on pumping even more money (most of it given by generous people expecting it to help feed the starving in Africa) on undeserving people like Mariam.

***It should however, be noted that in 2008 Care International issued a joint statement with anti-Israel charities demanding 'the highest diplomatic pressure" be brought to bear on Israel to change its policies on Gaza (i.e. surrender to the terrorists).

Why you should not give a penny to Comic Relief (or Sports Relief which comes under its umbrella)

No matter how many times I warn people about this it seems they do not get it, so let me spell it out this time in very simple terms:

Comic Relief (and its subsidiary Sport Relief) is an enormous scam run by leftist political extremists that is deceiving the decent British public (especially kids) into giving their hard earned money for campaigns that are generally far removed from the 'feeding the starving Africans' portrayed on the BBC.
If you look at the projects Comic Relief funds it is clear that the bulk of the money raised actually goes to political and environmental activists under the guise of 'social justice' (a euphemism for communism).
Sonarz reports that 25% of the money raised is spent on its 'executive bill' and salaries - amounting to £17 million of the money raised in 2015.
A large proportion of Comic Relief's funding goes to the four charities that are most involved in pure anti-Israel propaganda: War on Want, Christian Aid, Oxfam, and Save the Children. While Comic Relief claims that it is careful to ensure the money it gives to these charities is not directly spent on anti-Israel propaganda, one of these charities - War on Want*** - essentially does nothing other than campaign for the destruction of the Jewish State. In the case of Oxfam some of their funding has been used to pay for pure antisemitic incitement among Palestinians, including resurrecting the blood libel that Jews ritually slaughter Christian children and consume their blood on Passover. Yes it really is that bad.
Because of the free publicity the BBC provides Comic Relief with its farcical jamboree, other genuinely worthy charities suffer reduced donations.

So, unless you are an antisemite or an international socialist, I am sure you can find many more deserving charities to give your hard-earned cash to than Comic Relief (just make sure it also is not any of these). It is always best to give direct to a specific charity whose work you know you want to help.

***I have just discovered that, despite all of this, Comic Relief has just given their biggest grant ever to War on Want (£590,719) for a project that ends in August 2020. You can see the latest list of their grants here.
