Reminder: Britain still paying convicted terrorists

Kay Wilson is the British Israeli tour guide who, in 2010, miraculously survived a brutal machete attack by two sadistic Palestinian terrorists (Aiad Fatfata and Kifah Ghanimat) while hiking in a forest near Jerusalem. The American tourist she was escorting - Kristine Luken - was murdered in the attack. The terrorists simply wanted to 'kill some Jews' (although Kristine was in fact a Christian). Kay Wilson just posted this tweet about the UK Goverment's continued funding of Palestinian terrorists, including Aiad Fatfata and Kifah Ghanimat.

(Of course, if Britain's Jewish community 'leaders' used even a fraction of the effort they spend campaigning against "Islamophobia" on stopping the Govt's continued funding of convicted terrorists then this could all have been stopped long ago. But instead all those 'leaders' are now investing efforts in demonizing such obvious threats to the Jewish community like Colonel Richard Kemp and Melanie Phillips because of their "Islamophobia". See articles by Jonathan Hoffman and David Collier about this).

Incidentally when a friend of mine wrote to their MP about the Government funding Kay's killers in 2013 this was the response letter. It say the  Government cannot reduce aid to the PA as there could be "all manner of unintended consequences". In others words "we must keep paying the terrorists otherwise their terrorism might get even worse".

Also interesting to note is what this MP says about the 'unnacountable EU'. This Labour MP subsequently campaigned strongly to remain in the EU......Typical hypocrisy.

Exeter University Jewish Society and Israel Society - raising money for Islamic Relief

Two weeks ago I reported on Harry Markham's experiences with Bristol University Jewish Society - their policy of disassociating themselves with Israel and their leader pushing a narrative of "pervasive racism in Israel" and "Jewish settlers carrying out terrorist attacks".

Now Harry has alerted me to what is going on at Exeter University. Like Bristol, the Jewish Society and Israel Society there have rejected his offer to present Israel's case, but are perfectly happy to team up with those who seek Israel's destruction. In an act of supreme virtue-signalling (which would be comical if it wasn't true) they have decided, for "Charity Week", to join the Islamic Society in raising money for the 'charity' Islamic Relief.

If Jewish students really are determined to virtue-signal in this way, there are surely suitable Muslim charities they could have teamed up with (although why they would take precedence over, say Hindu or Sikh charities I have no idea). Unfortunately, Islamic Relief is not one of them. Those unaware of the dubious history of this 'charity' should look at this detailed report from the Middle East Forum that is summarised in this article. I have previously covered Islamic Relief on this blog when Norwood made a similarly incomprehensible decision to team up with them. Islamic Relief has long been accused of involvement in terrorism as reported here. In 2006 the Israeli Government outlawed Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) from its work in Judea and Samaria,  declaring that it was "designed to further Hamas's ideology among the Palestinian population" and in 2014 claimed that the 'charity' was involved in sending cash to Hamas. In 2014 HSBC cut its ties with IRW due to concerns over its terrorist links.  Even the United Arab Emirates banned IRW because of its terrorist links.

So Britain's Jewish student leadership regard dynamic, young unapologetic Zionists like Harry Markham as extremists to be censored, while cosying-up to (and now funding) terror-supporting Islamists.

UK funding Palestinian terrorists: how this could have been stopped

A week after the British Government announced yet more 'emergency cash' for the Palestinian Authority through UNRWA, the Palestinian Authority proudly announces a big increase in the payments it is making under its 'pay to slay' scheme (in which the more Jews a terrorist kills the greater the payment to the terrorist and/or his family).

These payments could easily have been stopped years ago if any of the well-funded mainstream Jewish organizations (the Board of Deputies, CST, JLC) had taken the slightest interest in doing so. There is tremendous public animosity towards the Government's £14 billion foreign aid programme. A vast majority of Brits want this funding stopped completely (except for genuine emergencies like earthquakes). Every week there are stories in the press of the ludicrous and undeserved schemes being funded around the world and each reminds the British public why they want the entire budget scrapped. Yet, curiously, the biggest and most disgraceful use of this aid is never mentioned. While stories of funding the African Spice girls are often repeated, the scandal of one of the biggest recipients of UK aid - the Palestinians - using the money to pay terrorists is never mentioned.

The Jewish organizations should have been raising this issue every single day with whatever politicians and reporters they know. If they had placed just a few full page advertisements highlighting the pay-to-slay scheme they would have been kicking at an open door as far as the British public were concerned. If they had publicized the case of British victims of Palestinian terrorists, such as Kay Wilson, the British public would have demanded an immediate stop to the payments.

But, to the best of my knowledge, the BoD have never publicly raised this issue. Today they were cosying up to the man who was dishing out money last week to the terrorists. Is this an example of the so-called 'quite diplomacy' they always talk about - but which never actually works? Judging by the two particular BoD individuals in the photo, you can be sure that they never discussed Kay Wilson and the payments being made to her attackers with British money.....

Kay Wilson's book: a very important read

Kay Wilson is the British Israeli tour guide who, in 2010, miraculously survived a brutal machete attack by two sadistic Palestinian terrorists (Aiad Fatfata and Kifah Ghanimat) while hiking in a forest near Jerusalem. The American tourist she was escorting - Kristine Luken - was murdered in the attack. The terrorists simply wanted to 'kill some Jews' (although Kristine was in fact a Christian).  In this book Kay describes in detail the attack, how she survived, and her long road to recovery.  The book is both harrowing and inspiring, and while it is a very personal account it also provides many insights into Israeli society. Once you start reading it you will find it difficult to put down. Yet, publishers refused to publish it because it does not fit the mainstream narrative of "Palestinians as victims".

Although it is not a point that Kay focuses on herself in the book, it is important to note that the terrorists who were convicted of the attack are held in the highest esteem in Palestinian society (receiving a monthly stipend of $3,410 as reward for being officially 'Heroes of Palestine') and also received full legal support from the Israeli state, while being housed in the relative luxury of an Israeli prison. This contrasts with the struggle Kay and her carers have to cope with the aftermath of the attack. As a further example of this contrast, the book describes how, during the trial, the Israeli court failed to provide an English translator for the Luken's victim statement, yet provided Arabic translators for the terrorists.

There are many other remarkable insights in the book, including Kay's first meeting with Kristin's parents, the fact that the terrorists did not know Kay had survived the attack until she stood up to testify at their trial (this caused them to argue between themselves); and also how Kay first heard about the arrest of the terrorists who attacked her, during a shared taxi journey in Jerusalem (when she was going to complete the forms needed to get a meagre disability allowance). The other passengers did not know it was Kay they were talking about.

There is also the revelation that Kifah Ghanimat had committed a string of previous terrorist attacks including the murder of Netta Blatt-Sorek the previous year. As the trial of Ghanimat was for the murder of Netta as well as Kristine, the story of Netta and her family features prominently in the book.  As Kay says, she remembered this being assumed at the time to have been 'suicide'. This is a recurring problem I have discussed on this blog whereby the Israeli authorities and media are desperate to downplay the possibility of a terrorist attack. This was despite the fact that Netta had been bound and stabbed. Indeed, this curious obsession to find some other explanation - other than simple Jew hatred - to 'explain' Palestinian terrorism was also evident in the case of Kristine and Kay;  the attack on them was wrongly speculated to have been 'in revenge' for Israel killing a Hamas commander in Dubai. But Fatfata and Ghanimat never said anything about that. They admitted they just wanted to kill Jews.

Kay also reminds us that, for victims of Palestinian terrorism there is always the danger that their torment will be increased by the possibility that the killers will be released as part of a 'prisoner exchange deal'.  Kay describes how shortly after Fatfata and Ghanimat were convicted came the news that Israel was going to release over a thousand convicted terrorists in exchange for the captured soldier Gilad Shalit. Kay feared that her attackers would be among those released and that this would have destroyed her trust in the country.  Fortunately, they were not, but many killers equally as sadistic and depraved as Fatfata and Ghanimathad were; and thousands of Israelis (such as Frimet and Arnold Roth) suffer the double agony of knowing the killers of their loved ones are free and living in luxury as 'heroes of Palestine'. Hopefully, one lesson of this book will be that no such further releases of convicted terrorists can be justified.

May's government finds even more money to fund the murder of Jews

And people still think Theresa May is a 'friend of Israel'...

And here's more from the idiotic Alistair Burt (all today) - very keen to give taxpayer money to every corrupt Arab regime (and note the Lebanese LAF is now under the control of Hezbollah) while getting his advice about Israel from the anti-Zionist goons of Yachad:

Story that Government has stopped funding War on Want is a lie*

War on Want website 3 April 2016: Does this look like they are bothered by criticism of being anti-Israel?

I am sorry to have to  break this news to everybody celebrating the Telegraph story that the Government has stopped funding the antisemitic 'charity' War on Jews Want as a result of its anti-Israel incitement. The above is a screenshot from War on Want's website today, which gives you a pretty good indication of how un-bothered they are by the Telegraph story (War on Want essentially does nothing other than campaign against Israel so, as far as they are concerned, the Telegraph is simply advertising what they do best). The Press release from War on Want that is referred to in the highlighted section is reproduced below. They claim they have not been criticised by the Government and that they have not sought Government support for years.

For once War on Want is more or less telling the truth (it's incredible how many Jews continue to delude themselves that David Cameron's government would ever actually take real action against Israel haters). War on Want no longer asks for direct funding from the British government**  for the simple reason that it gets it indirectly from the EU and Comic Relief (which of course is run by the government funded BBC). As I pointed out only last month, Comic Relief recently awarded War on Want its largest grant ever £590,719 (in 2013 it got £139,407 from Comic Relief and in 2014 it only got  £27,790). But it is the EU that continues to be their main financier**  - which, of course, is also partly funded by British taxpayers.

As my many previous reports on War on Want confirm, Cameron's government and the Charities Commission know all about War on Want's activities and refused to do anything about it - publicly at least. Maybe behind the scenes they were sufficiently embarrassed to suggest discreetly to War on Want that they should stop applying for direct Government funding. Either way, Gilligan's Telegraph report will make no difference at all except almost certainly lead to increased funding from Comic Relief and the EU and some additional Israel haters who have now been alerted to what they do.

Here is the War on Want Press release

War on Want has dismissed the story in today's Sunday Telegraph suggesting that it has had its funding 'pulled' by the UK government and that the charity has been criticised by the government over its support for human rights in Palestine.

John Hilary, Executive Director at War on Want, said: "The story in today's Telegraph is a complete fabrication. War on Want has not sought any UK government support for its operations for a number of years now, so it is absurd to suggest that we have had our funding 'pulled'. The insinuation that we have been criticised by the government for standing up for the rights of the Palestinian people is equally bogus. We will be contacting the Telegraph to help it set the record straight."
*I've had a lot correspondence since I posted this. The point is that the story is not what it seems to be and there has been no change in Government policy because of Gilligan's 'revelations' (which some of us have been writing to our MPs and the Charities Commission about for years). It is true that the Government - through the Dept of International Development (DfID) has stopped funding new War on Want projects. But my understanding is that WoW's claim that they stopped asking for DFID grants a while back is also true. That is why this whole story is a facade. WoW weren't going to get any new DFID funding anyway, but they will continue to get mega funding from the EU and Comic Relief which are indirectly funded by the Government and directly funded by UK taxpayers.  I did NOT base my article above on the WoW denial. I based it on my previous correspondence with the Charities Commission, WoW themselves, my MP and Comic Relief. The fact that the Comic Relief grants will continue is especially depressing since I was given a little bit of hope two years ago that they might stop funding them but then - bang - they recently gave them their biggest grant ever. The acid test will be if the Government stop their funding via the EU. Given Cameron's record I would say you need to be a deranged optimist to think that he would, even if he could, but we can all hope I suppose.

** I understand the amounts which are shown from the DfID on their recent accounts are for projects that started a few years ago.

Stopping British funding of convicted Palestinian terrorists - positive response from my (Labour) MP

I recently wrote the following letter to my local MP (a Labour MP not known for any great sympathy toward Israel):
Dear XXXXX

In light of previous communications I have had with you on this subject I sincerely hope that you will be signing this early day motion on British funding of convicted Palestinian terrorists**(see bottom for full statement):

http://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/business-papers/commons/early-day-motions/edm-detail1/?session=2015-16&edmnumber=1151

Please note also that what is not clearly stated in the motion is the fact that prisoners reward is proportional to the number of Jews they kill. The more killed the higher their reward.

What possible reason is there for UK tax payers to continue to pay what is effectively a massive reward to terrorist murderers. Not only is this obscene, but it provides a massive incentive for other terrorists to murder.
I am pleased to report that  he has just replied as follows:
Thank you for your email regarding the above.

While I cannot claim to be an expert on the issues covered, as you know, the motion is extremely detailed and does not seem to me to be merely a knee-jerk response to a news story.

I have therefore added my name to the motion this afternoon. If you look on the parliamentary website tomorrow it should be there.
At the moment there are only seven signatures  - which is a bit of a disgrace.

Daniel Greenfield posted a very good article yesterday on this subject - but restricted to the American funding of Palestinian terrorists. In fact, the combined UK and EU funding is actually far greater than the US funding. It is difficult to get an accurate figure since there are so many different sources of funding - there is the official EU Palestinian budget (which is now approximately 650 million euros per year) but most countries also provide their own funding (the UK, for example, gives about 50 million pounds per year from its Overseas Aid budget) and there is also massive additional funding through the many NGOs and charities. At some point I plan to do a proper analysis of this, but there is no doubt that if you lump all the donations together the Palestinians receive per capita many times more funding than any other people in the world (including the most desperate Africans).

** Early day motion 1151
That this House notes with concern that the Government continues to sanction payments from British taxpayers to convicted Palestinian criminals serving their sentences in Israeli prisons; further notes that the Department for International Development made payments to the Word Bank's Palestinian Development Plan (PRDP) Trust Fund, that this fund contributed to the Palestinian Authority's Ministry of Prisoners Affairs which provided salaries to prisoners, and that the payments continue through a cash transfer from the Palestinian Authority's PROP fund to the PLO; acknowledges the efforts of Zionist Federation UK's No Money for Murder campaign that highlights evidence gathered by the International Development Select Committee (IDC) in 2014, which confirms that payments are made on a scale of 1,400 NIS, £250 a month, for time served up to three years to over 12,000 NIS, £2,100 a month, for time served up to 30 years; notes that the highest salaries are comparable to starting wages for teachers and nurses in the UK; and calls on the Government to stop these payments from the International Development budget that both encourage and allow people to profit from murder.

The B'Tselem scandal and its implications for Yachad

B'Tselem is an NGO (Non-Government organisation) whose English title is: "The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories".  Like most of the NGOs who operate in Israel and the areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority, B'Tselem has no interest in "Palestinian Human Rights" (despite that being their main claim) but is instead dedicated to destroying Israel as a Jewish State by spreading anti-Zionist lies and propaganda. Almost of all of these organisations are funded by EU and US taxpayers who are never told anything about them because their governments are so obsessed with 'helping the Palestinians' that they are blinded to what really goes on. The British Government has recently given £227,988 to B'Tselem. The (only) reason B'Tselem and its activities are now in the spotlight is because a recent TV documentary exposed its members as being involved in the murder of Arabs simply because they were interested in selling land to Jews.

The fact that the B'Tselem scandal has finally made it into the mainstream British media (albeit only the online edition of the Sun) is good because it should be the catalyst to destroy any remote credibility that Yachad has for its claim that it is 'pro-Israel' (for US readers: Yachad is JStreet's UK sister organisation). This is because B'Tselem are a major partner of Yachad (and JStreet). In fact, all of Yachad's 'educational trips' to 'Israel and the West Bank' are coordinated with B'Tselem (and also involve other vicious anti-Zionist organisations like "Breaking the Silence"). For example, this is the itinerary of their most recent such trip from their own website. Yachad runs joint meetings with B'Tselem and consistently promotes B'Tselem's appalling propaganda on their website and facebook page.

Interestingly, Yachad received another wake-up call yesterday.

I do not believe that these latest wake-up calls will help Yachad realise the folly of what they do. So it is time for others to expose Yachad for the fraud and danger that they are.

From last year (satire but not much different to their actual website):

Britain is funding the continued murder of Israelis

In a terrorist attack claimed by Hamas today near the Israeli town of Dolev,  Israeli Danny Goren (aged 25) was killed and his friend wounded after being shot at point blank range by a Palestinian who they had got out of their car for to help find water. If and when the terrorist is arrested, like all 'resistance fighters' who have killed at least one Jew, he will be guaranteed a minimum salary of $40,000 for the rest of his life paid for by 'the Palestinian Authority' which is about 10 times the average wage of a Palestinian worker (if he was imprisoned without killing a Jew he would only get $2,000 per month). But, of course, the Palestinian Authority's money comes exclusively from European and US taxpayers. It turns out that the scale of Britain's contribution to this terrorist infrastructure funding (which I have written many times before about) is far in excess of what I have previously reported.

IsraellyCool reports that Britain's funding to 'the Palestinian Authority' was £265 million in the last 3 years alone (my understanding had been that it was in the order of £40 million per year). Moreover, this does not include Britain's funding of NGO's inside Israel (such as Btselem and Breaking the Silence), which are exclusively anti-Zionist and which are dedicated to deligitimizing Israel. Nor does it include Britain's contribution to the 600 million euros annually provided by the EU to 'the Palestinian Authority'.

The average Brit is totally unaware of just how big a chunk of Britain's foreign aid goes to fund this corrupt terrorist regime. And British Jews, who should know better, continue to believe that PM David Cameron is a 'great friend of Israel'. Even after two of his first major foreign policy decisions in his new term were to 1) instruct his UN Ambassador to vote in favour of a motion that Israel was the worst violator of health rights in the world; and 2) lead the antisemitic EU labelling of Jewish-made goods from Judea, Samaria and the Golan.

Money for starving Africans or convicted Palestinian terrorists?

I have reported many times on the scandal of Britain's funding of the Palestinian Authority going to pay salaries of convicted terrorists. Finally, some of the main stream media is waking up to the story - as you can see from this report in today's Daily Express.

Cash for terrorist salaries from the Foreign Aid budget is by no means the only scandal relating to British payments to the 'Palestinian cause'. Millions more per year goes to NGOs based in Israel and the PA which are dedicated solely to the deligitimization of Israel. The idiots at the Foreign Office claim these payments will ultimately support a 'two-state solution', whereas these organisations actually do nothing other than incite hatred and violence.

And of course there is also the millions from hard-working Brits paid every year to charities like Oxfam, Christian and Comic Relief which ends up directly funding Palestinian Jew-hatred.

Letter to my MP about the Gaza crisis and the new funding going to Hamas

(As on previous occasions I am not naming the MP)

Dear XXX

I am sorry to have to write to you again about my concerns with respect to the way politicians (across the board, but especially in the Labour party)  and the media are dealing with Israel's conflict with Hamas.

The media coverage almost universally amounts to a campaign of propaganda and lies on behalf of the terrorist organisation Hamas who have been allowed to dictate the news agenda. There has been no attempt to consider the Israeli perspective. if you want to get a feel for how this coverage is effecting British Jews please see this:

http://edgar1981.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/being-jew-in-uk-how-medias-false.html

(the article provides important links at the end to the critical information that the main stream media is simply covering up because it does not fit their 'Israel aggressor/Gaza victim' narrative).

and here is a report of what happened to my friend in Oxford Street as a result of the antisemitic hatred generated:

http://edgar1981.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/today-in-london-my-best-friends-wife.html

I would also like you to read and distribute to your colleagues the following brief first hand report from an Israeli soldier about what he found in one of the Hamas tunnels in Gaza (note: you will not see this type of report in any of the main stream media - perhaps you can answer why?):
"We went into Shuja’iya, to discover and destroy the Hamas’ terrorist tunnels. We discovered there an entire underground city, with multi-shaft, wide tunnels, with Wi-Fi & air-conditioning systems, concrete walls, and stocked to the ceiling with weapons and explosives. Some of the tunnels are so wide, that they can ride back and forwards on Vespa-type scooters. And then came the worst! The Hamas “fighters” started sending towards us 13- and 14-year-old Palestinian children, running at us, wearing explosive-laden suicide-bomber belts!! Those children were death-trapped, and became human bombs, by the community’s adults!! We were trained to fight adult soldiers or any other skilled adults, enabling us to defend our families and countrymen. But this?? We had no other option but, in self-defense, to shoot them at as far a range from us as we could, before the “responsible adult” that sent them used his mobile phone to detonate the belts, and kill us.” One of the Israel injured soldiers ended up by saying, “I do not know if I’ll ever be able to sleep again; the pictures of those poor children, killed by my gun, will probably never leave me!”
In the light of the evidence I am astonished to hear today that the Government is rewarding "Gaza" with yet more millions of pounds of British cash. If that money stood a chance of going to the genuinely needy civilians of Gaza then I would not have a problem. But every penny that goes to Gaza from charities or in aid goes either to Hamas directly or through UNWRA which is 100% staffed by Hamas people or people approved by Hamas. That is why they were able to build one of the world's the most sophisticated network of tunnels under the whole of Gaza (some of which
lead two kilometres into Israel) for the sole objective of murdering Israeli civilians. Just the tunnels that are known of so far are estimated to have cost over $1billion. All that was funded by aid money and much of the concrete was actually provided by Israel after the "International Community" forced Israel to do so 'to help build the civilian infrastructure".

Israel did not start the war, yet Israel is bearing a terrible cost in addition to the loss of many young conscript soldiers - just our of school - who have been sacrificed to avoid Palestinian civilian casualties. Israel is suffering one of the most sustained and comprehensive rocket attacks against one country's civilian population in world history (Hamas has been firing around 150-200 each day now for over 3 weeks against all Israel's cities).  Over 80% of Israel's population has been living in or near to shelters. This includes 2 million children. Everybody seems to care for the children of Gaza but nobody cares for the children of Israel. Apparently the world is angry that Israel does everything possible (through the Iron Dome system and the use of shelters) to minimize civilian casualties because everybody repeats the mantra that "only 3 Israeli civilians have died so far". In fact, all normal economic and social life has come to a halt in Israel and tens of thousands of businesses have gone-  or are about to go - bust. Yet nobody ever considered aid to Israel.

Yours

Major newspaper finally notices that UK is funding Palestinian terrorists

The fact that a significant proportion of the massive funding that the UK gives to the corrupt Palestinian Authority is used to reward the worst terrorists has been long reported on this (and other blogs) - see e.g. here, here, here, here here and here. It is something I have taken up personally with my MP and the UK Foreign Office. Yet, because it does not easily fit the 'accepted' pro-Palestinian narrative, the main stream media has been determined to stop the British public from knowing about this scandal.

Finally today this story has been noticed by a major newspaper - the Telegraph. Although the Telegraph story does not talk about any of the specific sadistic atrocities carried out by the terrorists rewarded (such as here, here and here) with UK funding, or about the heroes' welcome these animals receive when they are released, it does make very clear the cynicism and corruption of the Palestinian Authority - in particular it highlights the fact that only terrorists (as opposed to other ordinary prisoners) get these special 'welfare payments'.

The fact that Britain has the highest overseas aid budget of any country in the world (as a proportion of GDP) is not at all popular with the British public. Yet every one of the main three parties is committed to at least maintaining the same proportion. So every time any MP (Conservative, LibDem or Labour) is ever challenged on the budget they always parrot out the same nonsense that "reducing the budget will lead to people starving to death in Africa".  Wouldn't it be nice to imagine that one day some brave interviewer might even suggest to one of these MPs that they could reduce the budget by not paying terrorists.

Update: The Daily Mail now also has the story, although it includes the bizarre statement: "The salaries are reserved for those ‘resisting the occupation’ of lands the Palestinians regard as rightly theirs but which are part of the Israeli state." and fails to give details of any of the terrorist atrocities.

MP's response to my letter about funding convicted Palestinian terrorists

I have had a very fast response from my MP to the letter I wrote earlier in the week (in fact the MP responded within two days). It is very rare for an MP to respond so quickly (if at all) and this MP has actually taken the time to read the extensive supporting material I sent in addition to my letter. Note my response thanking the MP below.  While I strongly disagree with some of the MP's statements, I think the response was better than I could have expected -  especially as the MP is in the Labour Party in a constituency with a large number of Muslims. However, as you can see I did feel that I had to respond to the comment about "supporting Israel's right to exist".
MP's response (click to enlarge)
 My response:
I would like to thank you very much for your very speedy and detailed response to my letter concerning tax funds going to convicted Palestinian terrorists. I really appreciate the fact that you have taken this very seriously, have clearly spent a lot of time reading the material, and that you are going to raise the issue with William Hague. I believe this marks you out as an outstanding MP.
p.s. I note you said you were "a supporter of Israel's right to exist". This is a statement used by many MPs, which has always struck me as rather curious and I know many Israelis are offended by it.  To have ones' very existence even considered as open to debate is something that is applied to no other country in the world (many of which were created AFTER the modern day state of Israel,  and many of which were the result of either war, arbitrary colonial land demarcations or a mixture of both).  If a foreign diplomat asserted that they "support the UK's right to exist" I do not believe that this would be considered as expression of either great support or sympathy.
Anyway, let's see what response I get from William Hague now. I think this issue is going to be harder for the Palestinians and their supporters to shake off as the usual 'response to Israeli aggression', especially as the same Palestinian Authority that is making such generous and long-term payments to terrorists are claiming they are unable to pay even small electricity bills to keep the people's power flowing.

2 Dec 2013 Update: The MP has sent a further response about the 'right to exist' comment.

Charity to Palestinians

Daniel Greenfield has highlighted the disproportionate amount of humanitarian aid paid to the Palestinians compared with any other people/nation.

In fact, while almost all of this is paid for by US and Western countries (from their tax payers' income), it is also interesting to know how Muslims themselves are brainwashed into focusing their own charity giving towards the Palestinians. As I pointed out here based on the UK Muslim charity 'Muslim Hands' instructions to its donors, a Palestinian Muslim deserves far more than any Muslim living anywhere else in the world. Specifically, Muslims are asked to donate 44 times the amount to Palestinian Muslims than to Muslims in Malawi - one of the poorest nations in the world. Moreover, taking account of population size and per capita income a Muslim in Jerusalem is valued nearly two hundred thousand times more than a Pakistani Muslim.

I doubt if, in the history of the world, there has ever been so much money given to a least deserving cause, especially as much of the money sent to the Palestinians not only perpetuates their total culture of dependency but also ends up funding terrorism and anti-Semitic propaganda.

On stuffing snakes

Every UK media outlet this morning is making a very big story of the news that the Foreign Office has paid a £10,000 taxidermy bill for a 20ft anaconda snake called Albert hanging in its library.

At the time of a spending squeeze all round, with major welfare cuts  affecting the poorest in society this kind of reckless spending is indeed reprehensible.

But not a single UK media outlet has picked up on the story of far more UK tax payers' money being spent by the Foreign Office (through the Government's Overseas Aid budget) on stuffing a far more dangerous set of snakes. As Douglas Murray reports in the Washington Post Britain is directly funding the payment of 'salaries' to Palestinians convicted of terrorism by courts in Israel. Of the £86 million per year which the UK inexplicably donates to the Palestinian Authority (and which is not immediately channelled into the foreign bank accounts of  PA and even Hamas leaders) much goes directly to pay these convicted terrorists. Their monthly 'salary' is as high as £2000 - about 10 times what an average worker in the private sector of the Palestinian Authority territories earns and 20 times that of such a worker in Hamas controlled Gaza.

But of course - as David Cameron keeps saying - to 'stop people around the world dying' the annual UK overseas aid budget of £9 billion must not only be protected (unlike any other government department budget) but is the only one guaranteed to grow year on year. At least it will ensure that Palestinian terrorists will be very well equipped to kill Jews when they get out of jail.

Tom Jones and Pink Floyd: their role in the next Middle East war

As usual the world is disinterested in the latest series of rocket attacks against Israel, but the world will be very interested soon because when Israel mounts the necessary counter-attacks they are going to need to be substantial. In case anybody has missed the details (and you certainly will not see them in the UK media) the last few days have seen the Grad missile attack against Ashkelon, a wave of Kassams against Sderot, and today's rocket attacks against Eilat. One of the attacks against Sderot completely destroyed a hydrotherapy centre for disabled children (there is a very good eye witness account here and video here).

Only idiots fail to realise that Hamas is bolstered to mount these attacks because it is being increasingly supported by the Western media who in turn have brainwashed the public about the 'Palestinian cause'. I've written many times about the disproportionate amount of money provided by Western governments and charities to the Palestinians of Gaza. There is a great video here about the sheer scale and immorality of money going to Palestinians. Hamas are even complaining that there are too many goods coming freely into the Gaza from Israel. Given that information and the fact that Hamas wants to goad Israel into a full-blown war (with some pushing of course from Iran), is there anything more nauseating than the story that a host of top celebrities in the UK staged an event to raise money for the people of Gaza? This story was actually reported (very approvingly of course as showing great belevolence by the celebrities) in the Sun a couple of weeks ago and I kept meaning to blog about it but did not have the time. But I found a good report about it here. The event was hosted by the half-Jewish dimwit Jemima Goldsmith and her former Taliban loving husband husband Imran Khan. Depressingly, celebrities who performed included Tom Jones, Pink Floyd and Kate Moss (go figure the latter). The event raised £400,000. In future they could make things easier for themselves by just handing over the rockets.

EU taxpayers funding families of Palestinian suicide bombers

Here is a letter I sent to the Sun newsdesk today:

On December 5, 2005 Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas approved financial aid to the families of every Palestinian suicide bomber and terrorist killed 'in action'. The order was signed on the very day a Palestinian Arab blew himself up at a shopping mall in central Israel, slaughtering five people and wounding more than 50. The bomber's family, along with those of every other deceased killer, will now receive at least $250 a month in direct government aid (which is significantly more than the average wage), according to the new law.

And guess where the bulk of the money the PA is dishing out comes from? The EU taxpayers as you can see from the EU's own website: www.eufunding.org/

Full details of this story can be found here:

The Sun did not even mention the suicide bombing today. Perhaps you think its readers are not interested. Well I think they would be interested in the above story.
